Mixed outlook for shipping

PETALING JAYA: Shipping company Halim Mazmin Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Halim Mohammad is not overly-anxious over the decline in shipping rates; in fact, he expects the company to continue to be profitable in the coming years.

“We have been very careful on the types of ships that we own and operate. Our ships are engaged in worldwide trading and they are enjoying stable fixed charter hire for the long term. Therefore, we are not exposed to the rise and fall of charter rates,” he told Starbiz.
