KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will reintroduce regulated short selling of stocks after an eight-and-a-half-year ban and allow greater flexibility for quality companies, both local and foreign-owned, to be traded on Bursa Malaysia.
“I believe the environment is now conductive,'' Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said in a speech delivered by Second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop at Invest Malaysia 2006 conference yesterday.
