NAV of unit trust industry continues growth trend

THE unit trust industry net asset value (NAV) continued to expand in 2005, rising by 12.7% and accounting for 14.2% of the total equity market capitalisation as at end-2005 (2004: 12.1%). 

The level of gross sales was consistently high throughout the year, with a 25.3% rise (2004: 33.4%). Despite the relatively higher repurchases made during the year, the industry recorded annual net sales of RM14.9bil compared with RM12.6bil in 2004.
