Consumer groups call for lower airfares

PETALING JAYA: Consumer groups are calling for an increase in flight frequencies and lower airfares following the Government's recent decision on domestic rationalisation involving Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAS) and AirAsia Bhd.  

Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association (Fomca) adviser Prof Datuk Mohd Hamdan Adnan welcomed the move to allow both airlines to compete on a level playing field, but added that passengers must benefit as well.
