KUALA LUMPUR: The Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) will be the Government’s new five-year economic blueprint that will come at the midway mark of Vision 2020, but analysts say a key objective of the administration will be focused on human capital and knowledge, along with emphasis on agriculture, biotechnology, and information and communications technology (ICT).

Central to the 9MP will be the Government’s emphasis on human capital and knowledge as the country’s physical infrastructure has improved a lot during the first half of Vision 2020 and industries are facing keen competition from not only economic superpowers, such as China and India, but also from some of the country’s neighbours.
