January output up 2.6% on manufacturing activity

PETALING JAYA: The Industrial Production Index (IPI) for January 2006 rose 2.6% to 127.5, compared with 124.3 a year earlier. However, it fell .4% versus December 2005. 

Still, the 2.6% rise came in below the six-month moving-average of 4.2%, according to RAM Consultancy Services Sdn Bhd chief economist Dr Yeah Kim Leng.
