HONG KONG: STATS ChipPAC Ltd, the world's fourth largest microchip test and packaging company, said yesterday its 2006 revenue growth was likely to exceed the outsourced chip packaging industry's 12%–16%, thanks to a rebound in semiconductor demand.

“Historically, we have grown faster than the industry and we expect 2006 to be no different from what we have done historically,” chief executive Tan Lay Koon said at the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit.
