KUALA LUMPUR: Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Malaysia rose 37% last year, with RM17.9bil in 562 projects approved compared with RM13.1bil in 583 projects in 2004.
International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz, in announcing the 2005 performance of the manufacturing sector yesterday, said the approved FDI in the sector rose to the highest level since 2001 and accounted for 58% of the RM31bil of total investments approved last year.
