TOKYO: Toyota Motor Corp said its third-quarter profit rose 34% to a record, buoyed by a weaker yen and increased sales of fuel-efficient cars in the United States and Asia.
Net income climbed to 397.6 billion yen (US$3.3bil) in the three months ended Dec 31, from 296.5 billion yen a year earlier, the company said yesterday. Sales gained 15% during the quarter to 5.3 trillion yen.
