  • FLONIC PLANS BONUS ISSUE:Flonic Hi-Tec Bhd has proposed abonus issue of 70 million newshares on the basis of one newshare for every existing share. In astatement to Bursa Malaysia, thecompany said the bonus issuewould be implemented via thecapitalisation of its share premiumreserve. Flonic's latest managementaccounts as of December2005 show the company has ashare premium reserve ofRM7.62mil. – AFX-Asia 

  • PERMAJU AWARDED LOGGINGJOB: Permaju Industries Bhd saidthe Pahang State Foundation hasawarded it a logging contract on atotal area of 885.65 acres at anoffer price of RM7.55mil.   • PPBH TO MANAGE RASA SAYANGRESORT: PPB Group Bhd said its whollyowned subsidiary, PPB Hartabina Sdn Bhd(PPBH) has entered into an agreement to provideproject management services to Shangri-La Hotels (M) Bhd in connection with themajor re-development of the Rasa SayangResort in Penang. 

    PPBH is to advise on, supervise, coordinate,manage and administer the project at a feeequal to 1.5% of the total project cost.Based on preliminary construction costestimate of about RM70.2mil, the estimatedproject management fee is RM1.05mil subjectto adjustment on presentation of finalaccounts for the project. – Bernama 

  • PROTON, PETRONAS SIGN MOI: ProtonHoldings Bhd and Petroliam Nasional Bhd(Petronas) have signed a memorandum ofintent (MoI) to develop larger engines andenvironment-friendly alternative fuel systemsfor Proton. 

    With the signing, both parties will becollaborating and exploring possibilities tofurther develop Petronas engines and thesubsequent potential commercialisation ofthe engine. Proton and Petronas willparticularly be looking at the compatibility ofPetronas’ E01engine to Proton’s vehicles. 

    The collaboration will also see both partiescooperating to develop a natural gas vehiclesystem for Proton. 

  • INGENUITY SIGNS CARD SYSTEM DEAL:Ingenuity Solutions Bhd said its subsidiary,Ingenuity Microsystems Sdn Bhd, has signedan agreement with Boustead PetroleumMarketing Sdn Bhd for the licensing, maintenanceand support of Ingenuity's Fleet CardManagement System. 

    The card management system would bedeployed nationwide to all Bousteadpetroleum marketing service stations, it said. 

    In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, Ingenuitysaid the project was expected to contributepositively to its future earnings. No otherdetails were provided. – AFX-Asia

    The fund, launched on Jan 6, is aimed atproviding steady recurring income that ispotentially higher than prevailing fixeddeposit rates. 

    As at Dec 31, 2005, the total fund size ofHLG Dividend Fund amounted toRM423.34mil, with 889.25 million units incirculation. — Bernama 

  • PUBLIC MUTUAL DECLARES DISTRIBUTIONSFOR THREE FUNDS: Public MutualBhd has declared a gross distribution of 5sen and 3.25 sen for Public Index Fund andPublic Money Market Fund, respectively. 

    It has also declared a gross distribution of3.5 sen and unit split of 1:35 for PublicEnhanced Bond Fund. 

    The distributions and unit split were forthe financial year ended Jan 31.
