PARIS: Steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal went to Luxembourg yesterday on a charm offensive for his US$23bil bid for rival Arcelor amid fears it could lead to job cuts and the loss of one of Europe's top multinationals.
The Indian-born billionaire, whose Mittal Steel is targeting Arcelor, will put his case to Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker after failing to calm a furious French Finance Minister Thierry Breton on Monday.
