HEAVY investor interest in AmcorpGroup Bhd on Tuesday's news of its founder and executive chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim's plan to privatise the company in a RM920mil corporate exercise caused the company's share prices to surge.
Shares jumped from a previous close of RM1.04 to open at RM1.30 yesterday, quickly rising to an intra-day high of RM1.34 in the morning, before closing at RM1.30. It was the top gainer of the day, with a 25%, or 26 sen, increase. It also recorded the second highest volume with 34.8 million shares traded.
