THE International Centre For Leadership In Finance’s (ICLIF) training programmes are expected to garner more participation from the corporate world this year, said executive director Datuk Rafiah Salim.

“There is now more emphasis and awareness in the country towards the development of leaders. We are also the leading institution in pure leadership programmes,” she said.

The most popular programme at ICLIF is the Global Leadership Development Programme (GLDP), the first launched by the centre in 2004.

“The GLDP is catching on very well. It is practically full every session – a number of non-financial institutions have even joined the programme,” Rafiah said.

ICLIF is set up as a non-profit organisation by Bank Negara to build a high quality human resource pool of top management for the financial sector and corporations in Malaysia, Asia and the Middle East.

The organisation provides high-level training to create a pool of chief executive officers for the future or for their own development in order to carry out their roles effectively.

All participants of the programmes are automatically accepted as members of the ICLIF Alumni Association, which has been designed to enable members to maintain active networking as well as to serve as a forum for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
