LONDON: European markets tested the downside Thursday for the first time this year as the mining sector joined utilities in ending generally lower.
Germany's DAX 30 closed down 0.1 percent at 5,516, France's CAC 40 index lost 0.07 percent at 4,835 and the U.K.'s FTSE 100 index shed 0.4 percent to 5,691.
