PETALING JAYA: Jaya33 Sdn Bhd has appointed Mesdaq-listed Palette Multimedia Bhd to design and build a wireless, fibre optic and high-speed networking backbone for its hyper office, Jaya33, in Petaling Jaya.
Jaya33 marketing director L.C. Toh said the company had studied the market and decided to work with Palette to design the information technology (IT) infrastructure to meet the demanding requirements of its tenants.
“With Palette as our IT developer, Jaya33 is set to create a rich networking environment for our tenants to not only enjoy significant cost savings but also adopt any cutting-edge applications in future,” she said in an interview.
Jaya33 is located along Jalan Semangat in Petaling Jaya and comprises three hyper office towers with total built-up area of 400,000 sq ft.
Toh said besides an inbuilt IT infrastructure, Jaya33 provides tenants with higher headroom (14ft to 16ft) compared with the conventional 10ft height.
The building also offers sturdier floors that support up to 100 lbs per sq ft (against the normal 50 Ibs per sq ft), an open-plan layout, spacious loading bays and separate cargo and passenger lifts.
According to Toh, these features would allow for servicing, storage and light industrial activities, while maintaining welcoming and impressive interiors at the lobby area.
“Jaya33 strives to bring to its tenants a complete lifestyle work environment with a 60,000 sq ft gymnasium, swimming pool, alfresco food and beverage outlets as well as function rooms and conference facilities,” she said.
A spacious outdoor area had also been allocated to hold exhibitions, product launches and promotions and there would be ample parking facilities for tenants and their guests.
Toh noted that corporations involved in the IT business, marketing, trading and services sector, as well as those looking for spacious and modern facilities for their headquarters, will find Jaya33 attractive.
“The rental is also competitively priced from RM3 per sq ft,” she said.
Work on the site is 30% completed and Jaya33 is due for completion by first quarter 2007.
Palette chief executive officer Eg Kah Yee, said Jaya33 would be one of the few commercial buildings in Malaysia to have incorporated IT infrastructure into their building plans.
“Once completed, Jaya33 will become one big wireless hot zone where users of any wireless device will have Internet access anytime, anywhere in the building,” he said.
Other than high-speed Internet access and networking capabilities, Eg said the infrastructure would allow for the incorporation of other services such as Voice over Internet Protocol, voice-over WiFi and wireless surveillance services.
Moreover, a data centre would be built in Jaya33 to allow local hosting of servers and other systems to assist tenants minimise cost of building and maintaining their own computer facilities.
Besides being the technology provider, Palette will also operate as the Internet service provider for Jaya33 tenants.
