Maxis Communications Bhd plans to invest RM1.3bil next year in products and services that will give its subscribers more reasons to stay with its services as well as to defend and gain market share. CEO Datuk Jamaludin Ibrahim sees opportunities in new market segments and the group's Indonesian unit, riding on the growth in that country.

With an order book of RM1.7bil and pending bids for more than RM1bil worth of contracts, SapuraCrest Petroleum Bhd is in for a busy year. Executive vice-chairman Datuk Shahril Shamsuddin says the company, which has returned eight straight quarters of profit, would continue to grow its profits and make 2006 a good year for its shareholders.
