MANILA, Philippines: Philippine shares rose Friday for the fourth consecutive session amid optimism about the economy and corporate earnings next year.
The benchmark 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index managed to end above the 2,100-point resistance level with a gain of 32.88 points, or 1.6 percent, closing at 2,111.46.
