US Fed needs to rethink rates

In its latest meeting, the US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decided to raise the federal funds rate target to 4.25%. Since it started raising the target rate in June 2004, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) has come a long way in its monetary tightening and has so far raised the federal funds target rate by a total of 325 percentage points.
