PENANG's free trade industrial zone is fighting the perception that its factories are closing down because of cheaper production costs in China and Vietnam, thus resulting in a lacklustre state economy.
Over the past 10 years, some 13 companies have set up operations in the state’s Free Industrial Zone (FIZ). This is contrary to the perception that the zone is losing its economic and commercial significance.
