THE Sarawak Government will build the 900MW Murum hydroelectric dam in the upper Rejang basin in Kapit Division next year.
State Planning and Resource Management Minister Datuk Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the project was to increase the state’s power generating capacity to meet rising demand and to attract investments in energy-intensive industries.
