1984: Jaya Jusco Stores Sdn Bhd established in response to request by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to help modernise the retailing industry in Malaysia.
1985: First pilot store Jaya Jusco Dayabumi opens. Second pilot store Jaya Jusco Taman Tun Dr Ismail opens.
1989: Jaya Jusco Dayabumi closes. First Superstore Jaya Jusco Taman Maluri opens.
1990: Japan Management Training Programme begins. 28 Malaysian students invited to Japan as “ambassadors” through the Aeon “1% Club” programme.
1991: Jusco Melaka opens, fully operated by Malaysian staff. Aeon Group's “Hometown Forest” programme launched simultaneously at inauguration of Jusco Melaka.
1992: Jusco Wangsa Maju (Alpha Angle Shopping Centre), the company's first shopping centre, opens.
1994: Distribution centre starts operations. Japanese trainer programme begins.
1995: Jaya Jusco Taman Tun Dr Ismail closes. Jusco Bandar Utama (1 Utama Shopping Centre) opens. Jusco Bandar Baru Klang (Bukit Raja Shopping Centre) opens.
1996: Jaya Jusco Stores Bhd listed on the main board of KLSE.
1997: Jusco Ipoh (Kinta City Shopping Centre) opens.
1998: Jusco Melaka Shopping Centre opens.
1999: Jusco Mid Valley opens.
2000: Jusco Taman Maluri Shopping Centre reopens. Jusco Bandar Puchong opens.
2001: Launch of WAOH Charity Fund/Jusco Fest/Jusco's 17th Anniversary. 22 Malaysian students and two former participants from 1990 batch invited to Japan as “ambassadors” through Aeon “1% Club” programme.
2002: Establishment of Jusco-OUM Retail Centre in Alpha Angle Shopping Centre at Wangsa Maju. Jusco Taman Universiti opens, Japan Management Training Programme reactivated.
2003: Jusco Home Centre opens in Jusco 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Jusco Permas Jaya Shopping Centre opens.
2004: Jusco Metro Prima Shopping Centre opens. Jaya Jusco Stores Bhd officially changes name to Aeon Co (M) Bhd. Jusco celebrates 20th Anniversary in Malaysia.
The company's authorised capital to increased to RM500mil from RM100mil. Completed bonus issue (1:1) for 87,750,000 new ordinary shares.
