MAS to start with A380 service on the Australia-Europe route

MALAYSIA Airlines (MAS) plans to deploy the first two of the six A380 – the world’s largest commercial aircraft – ordered from Airbus for its Australia-Europe route beginning with its winter schedule in 2007.

MAS, via its parent Penerbangan Malaysia Bhd (PMB), is scheduled to take delivery of the first two A380 aircraft in July and September 2007. The delivery schedule for the rest will be finalised before the year-end, MAS senior general manager for technical and ground operations Tajuden Abu Bakar told a press conference at KL International Airport (KLIA) yesterday.
