JAPANESE shares are set to extend gains this week and could top 14,500 points for the first time since shortly after Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi took office on confidence in the economy, analysts said.
Sentiment here received a boost after Japan said on Friday its economy grew by a stronger-than-expected 0.4% in the three months to September for a fourth straight quarter of expansion.
