Lumileds to make next-generation LEDs in Penang plant

LUMILEDS Lighting (M) Sdn Bhd hopes to manufacture the next generation of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), which is brighter and consumes less energy, at its plant in Penang. 

Executive vice-president and managing director Menko Deroos told StarBiz that Lumileds would gradually transfer technology capable of making Luxeon, the brand of the company’s LEDs, from its other facilities to Penang.
