Hot debate over Temasek stake in Southern Bank

HAS Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd breached Malaysian banking laws by exceeding a 5% overall stake in Southern Bank Bhd? 

That question was hotly debated when Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd clarified that its interest in Southern Bank Bhd (SBB), held through its own investment holdings entities – Aranda Investments (Mauritius) Pte Ltd and Aranda Investments Pte Ltd – comprised 63,847,800 shares or 4.36% in SBB as at Oct 25.
