BERLIN: U.S.-German automaker DaimlerChrysler AG reported a 21 percent drop in net profit for the third quarter compared to the same period a year ago, when the earnings were boosted by tax-free income from the sale of a stake in Hyundai.
Net income dropped to euro755 million (US$913 million) from euro951 million in the year-ago quarter, the company said.
