Malaysia's inflation rate held near a six-and-a-half year high in September, as rising fuel prices led to higher transportation costs and taxes made cigarettes and beer more expensive.
The consumer price index rose 3.4% from a year earlier after increasing 3.7% in August, the Department of Statistics said yesterday.
