TAIPEI: Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration approved higher fuel surcharges for China Airlines and EVA Airways Corp, the first increase in more than a year.
The two companies and other Taiwan-based carriers would be permitted to increase the fuel surcharge on short-haul flights such as those to Hong Kong to US$12.5 per trip from US$5, the administration said in a statement. The surcharge on long-haul flights including those to the United States will be raised to US$32.5 from US$13.
