THE land of the rising sun will be an increasingly important export destination for Malaysian goods, particularly for timber and plywood, semiconductors, liquefied natural gas and petroleum products.
Industry observers are generally optimistic with Japan's outlook, especially with the recent landslide victory in the election by Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and his Liberal Democratic Party, which would help instil political stability. It augurs well for the economy and creates a “conducive” environment for further growth.
