Infineon Kulim starting ops next May

Infineon Technologies (Kulim) Sdn Bhd (Infineon Kulim) expects to start producing power and logic chips used in the industrial and automotive sectors with the setting up of its new manufacturing facility at the Kulim HiTech Park (KHTP) in May next year. 

The initial investment is US$1bil and based on the estimate of the current market demand, there is a possibility that this will be increased further in the future, said Infineon Technologies Austria AG vice-president Dr Werner Reczek.
