Maxis plans to widen 3G coverage in the peninsula


MAXIS Communications Bhd plans to widen its 3G network in peninsular Malaysia, and increase its total number of 3G sites to 750 by year-end and 1,500 by end-2006.  

It will add 450 new sites in Penang and Johor Baru. Maxis has 300 sites in the Klang Valley. Areas surrounding the Klang Valley will be covered early next year and the company aims to have 1,500 established 3G sites by the end of next year.
