Manufacturing investments exceed target, says Rafidah

A TOTAL of RM251.6bil worth of investments were approved for the manufacturing sector between 1996 and June 2005, surpassing the target of RM250bil, said International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz. 

“We have attained our objectives for the manufacturing sector under the Second Industrial Master Plan (IMP) which ends this year,” she said at the opening of a seminar organised by the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
