Sony expects camcorder sales to rise 35%

SONY (M) Sdn Bhd expects revenue contribution from its camcorder and digital imaging division to rise to between 32% and 35% for the financial year to March 2006 from 30% the previous year. 

Currently, Sony is the leader in the local camcorder business with a 60% market share. Its closest competitor is Panasonic, followed by JVC.
