LONDON: Global bank HSBC highlighted its focus on emerging markets yesterday as it reported a 5% rise in first-half profit and reiterated that the UK was its most difficult credit market.
Pre-tax profit for the six months ended June 30 rose to US$10.64bil from US$10.12bil in the equivalent period last year, the world's second largest bank by market value said in a statement.
