From an overall perspective, Malaysia is expected to continue to preserve its competitive edge in the Asian region despite the recent removal of the ringgit peg against the US dollar and shift to a managed float.
Prudential Asset Management Hong Kong head of investment services Robert Rountree holds the view that the ringgit de-peg should not adversely affect Malaysia's competitiveness especially in terms of exports and foreign direct investments.
