    An analyst said the acquisition of a substantial stake in the company by Deutsche Bank AG on July 15 continues to draw investor interest.

  • IOI Corp: Shares in palm oil group IOI Corp Bhd fell 10 sen to RM10.70 on worries that its earnings would be affected by further strengthening of the ringgit, said an analyst. 

    “Palm oil prices are quoted in US dollars and a stronger ringgit means lower prices for exporters,” the analyst said. A total of 3,295,100 shares changed hands yesterday.

  • Rubberex: Interest in Rubberex Corp (M) Bhd shares grew after the rubber glove manufacturer posted a strong performance for the first half year to June 30. 

    A report from a research house said the company faced rising raw materials cost but management indicated that this increase could be passed on to customers. The counter added 3 sen or 1.55% to close at RM1.97 on a volume of 150,000 shares.
