Microsoft reports 37% gain in quarterly earnings


SEATTLE (AP) - Microsoft Corp. reported a 37 percent jump in fourth-quarter profits, citing strong sales across an array of products, from servers to the company's growing Xbox video game business. 

For the three months that ended June 30, the world's largest software maker said Thursday net income climbed to $3.7 billion (euro3.04 billion), or 34 cents a share, up from $2.69 billion, or 25 cents, a share a year ago.
