KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi pledged Thursday to cut government spending in order to reduce a budget deficit, even though he said the move may hurt his popularity.
Abdullah, who is also finance minister, said there will not be any pump-priming efforts to boost the economy.
