PARIS: The main French employers' group elected Laurence Parisot as its first woman president Tuesday at a time when the government is struggling to convince voters of the need for major economic reform.
Parisot, 45, inherits from outgoing Medef boss Ernest-Antoine Seilliere the challenge of lobbying an unpopular conservative government for labor market liberalization and other sensitive structural reforms just two years before elections.
