Next move by Telekom's Wahid is cost-cutting

Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) continues its journey towards becoming a world-class organisation in Datuk Abdul Wahid Omar's second year as its group chief executive officer. The focus is now on cost-cutting initiatives, growing the business to rev up profit and driving up productivity levels.

Meeting reporters yesterday, Wahid talked of benchmarking the productivity levels of each employee with some of the best companies in the world in line with his broad mandate to transform TM into a world-class organisation. At present, TM’s revenue per employee versus its regional telco peers is among the lowest.
