HEALTHY World Lifestyle Sdn Bhd, which owns the Ogawa retail chain store for health and wellness products, will adopt an aggressive strategy to expand into China and grow its market share in Malaysia.

Executive director Eric Cheah said at the launch of the high-end Ogawa Fujiiryoki SKS1800 massage chair in Kuala Lumpur the company aimed to be a global brand with regional presence.

“We are actively growing our presence in the Malaysian market, but we also see the larger regional potential, especially in the booming China market where there is a ready demand for health and wellness products,” he said.

Healthy World last year achieved more than RM80mil in sales in Malaysia alone.

The company will be opening 30 outlets in Beijing and Shanghai in the next six months.

“We have earmarked RM5mil for our push into China and are confident that Ogawa can create an impact as we know the China market well,” Cheah added.

The company’s RM100mil domestic sales target this year is backed by an aggressive marketing campaign with the help of Malaysian jazz queen Sheila Majid as the Ogawa brand ambassador. The massage chair retails at RM20,999 and targets the high-end market. – Bernama
