ATLANTA: Intel Corp's increased forecast for quarterly revenue signals chief executive officer Paul Otellini's efforts to sell more profitable laptop chips are paying off.
Intel, the world's biggest computer chipmaker, said yesterday that second quarter sales would be US$9.1bil to US$9.3bil, more than a prior forecast for US$8.6bil to US$9.2bil. Notebook computers were boosting sales beyond the original estimate, said chief financial officer Andy Bryant.
