LONDON (AP) - European shares closed mixed Thursday, lifted off lows somewhat by U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan's Congressional testimony, while French utilities fell as Gaz de France's initial public offering was announced.
Germany's DAX 30 index finished up 0.1 percent at 4,562 while France's CAC 40 index slipped 0.4 percent to 4,153.
