PROTON Holdings Bhd plans to export its newly-launched Savvy, its first 1.2-litre engine compact hatchback, depending on domestic demand, said group chief executive officer Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff.

While he declined to provide a target for domestic sales, he said the figure hinged on the public’s response to the car within a week of its launch. The Savvy was launched by Proton adviser Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Petaling Jaya yesterday.
