TWO days of auctions of Latin American works at Christie's and Sotheby's in New York brought record prices for several artists.
At Sotheby's, Mexican painter and muralist Diego Rivera's “The Offering” sold for US$1.584mil. The work came from a private collection in Dallas, and sold alongside Rivera's works, “Lavanderas con Zopilotes” (1932) which went for US$542,200.
