Australia on Thursday tabled its offer in the World Trade Organisation's services trade negotiations in Geneva. In this article, Trade Minister Mark Vaile says the offer demonstrates Australia's responsiveness to developing country concerns and its committment to achieving real progress in the Doha round of negotiations.
The highlight of Australia’s revised offer, particularly for developing countries, is the commitment on the temporary movement of skilled workers which will give greater certainty to skilled foreign workers – including contractual service providers – seeking temporary entry to Australia.
