LONDON (AP) - European shares closed weakly Wednesday after struggling for direction even as a euro2.3 billion (US$2.96 billion) acquisition in the container shipping industry lent support.
The German DAX Xetra 30 index finished down 0.2 percent to 4,243, while the French CAC 40 index slipped 0.5 percent to 3,979.
