FRANKFURT: Boerse chief executive Werner Seifert stepped down on Monday after a six-month tussle with investors angered at his handling of a bid for the London Stock Exchange, which he was forced to drop in March.
After an emergency supervisory board meeting, Boerse chairman Rolf Breuer, who was equally in the eye of the storm, agreed to leave at the end of the year once he found successors for four other board members who are also leaving.
