MALAYSIA'S exports in March surged to an all-time high of RM46.67bil, boosted by high crude oil prices and a strong showing in the electrical and electronics (E&E) sector.

The monthly trade surplus, too, was a record RM10.38bil, up 51.2% from the March 2004 figure. “This is the 89th consecutive month of trade surplus since November 1997, and the highest monthly growth in trade surplus since August 2003,'' the Statistics Department said in a statement.
