LOS ANGELES: KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut parent Yum Brands Inc on Wednesday posted higher quarterly earnings and backed its outlook for the year despite a food safety issue in China that is hurting profits there.
Net income for the first quarter rose 13% to US$161mil, or 53 cents per share, from US$142mil, or 47 cents per share, a year ago.
